Our Editorial Charter
1. Tone and Style
-
- Demanding yet accessible: Whether it’s a philosophical essay or a detective novel, the style must be fluid and immersive. We avoid both elitist jargon and extreme simplification.
- Atmospheric and immersive: The reader must be anchored in a setting. The geography and atmosphere (a Norwegian fjord, the archives of a court, the office of a thinker) are characters in their own right.
- A sense of rhythm: For paperback and ebook formats, narrative efficiency is paramount. The chapters are dynamic, constructed to captivate the reader’s attention from the very first pages.
2. What we are looking for
-
- Manuscripts that intersect our disciplines (e.g., a travelogue in the form of an investigation, or a thriller with strong philosophical implications).
- Strong, authentic voices, capable of sustaining tension or embodying a thought.
- Memorable endings that leave a lasting impression on the reader.
3. What we REFUSE
-
- Gratuitous graphic violence or gore without narrative justification (for suspense and cold cases).
- Purely touristic travel guides or holiday narratives lacking reflective depth.
- Academic philosophy disconnected from reality or simplistic self-help manuals.
4. The Commitment Format (Pocket & Ebook)
Our books are designed to travel with the reader. The paperback format must be ergonomic, robust, and well-made. The ebook format must offer an impeccable digital reading experience (interactive table of contents, smooth layout, universal adaptability).
